Making a purchase thru PayPal.com
for something at SavingDinner.com

We gladly accept PayPal as a form of payment here at SavingDinner.com. To ensure you have a positive and smooth checkout process using paypal, please keep the following in mind:

PayPal allows you, their customer, to set up bank accounts and credit cards within their system so that when you want to pay us, you tell PayPal what account/card to take it out of, and they forward the payment to us, never releasing your personal credit or bank information. Very handy, indeed.

The majority of problems that we see when one orders and pays with "PayPal", is what PayPal refers to as an "echeck". It may not be all that evident that that is what you are chosing to do and you will not see "echeck" flash across your PayPal screen, but the following does happen...

"Echecks" occur when you have an account set up with PayPal but only have it connected to your bank account and do not have an additional credit card or form of payment on file with Paypal.

When you chose to have them pay us, PayPal will send you a receipt saying, hey you are making a payment to SavingDinner.com and then you think all is fine and dandy, and then.... you can't login, your download is not ready, your gift certificate is not showing up for printing, and your order hasn't shipped! This is because we have not yet been paid by PayPal.

Here is what happens if PayPal classifies your transfer to us from a bank account as an echeck. Paypal sends a message to your bank to withdraw the amount of your purchase. Depending on the time of day and batch processing, it could take anywhere from a few minutes to a day or so for the bank to get the message from paypal, then they have to make sure you have money in your account, then they turn around and in their next batch, sends your money to PayPal.

Paypal, during it's processing, receives the payment from the bank 24-28 hours later, then they have to internally process it and see that ahhh, that money is for your order with us. Then, they earmark that money for us, and the next batch process, it gets transferred to our PayPal account and an automated notice is sent to our system that you have paid and authorize the transaction.

The entire echeck process takes approximately 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS (no Saturdays or Sundays!) and during that time your purchase will be pending in our system until PayPal sends us your payment.

If you have questions regarding echecks, please contact PayPal directly. If you believe your payment to us may have been classified as an echeck, you can login to your PayPal account and see the expected payment date.

PayPal does accept credit cards and we also accept all major credit cards directly as well.
